In a time where the Internet is the main form of mass communication, it seems that everyone wants a piece of the viral pie. For every person grasping at straws in order to come up with something interesting, there are people who lead truly fascinating lives. I’m lucky enough to work for a company that recruits some of these interesting people: traveling medical professionals. These extraordinary people travel across the country to put their skills to good use wherever they step foot. Whenever I talk to someone who is about to start a travel career, I give them a couple of reasons of why they should start a blog.
-
- Your insight can help others. As you were deciding to become a traveler, I’m sure you remember weighing your options and researching the pros and cons to traveling. Sharing your experiences can be what a reader needs in order to determine whether traveling is the best next step in his or her career. Your thought process to your decision may even be a good topic for one of your blogs!
- Blogging helps you remember your experiences. With the amount of things travelers
experience on a daily basis, it is easy to let an entire assignment go by without any real chance to reflect. Even if you only jot down a few sentences each day, you will have a great body of work to draw from. - You can teach yourself important communication skills FOR FREE! As you look back on your blog posts, not only will you see the chronological sequence of your experiences but you may also see the progressive improvement of your writing. Writing helps your overall communicative skills which will only help you in the long run.
Those are three of many reasons why you should keep a blog. If there are any bloggers reading this right now, share more reasons of why you should share your experiences and opinions in blog form!
