The time has never been better to take that leap of faith and jump into a travel career. There is a high demand for healthcare professionals as a whole. Generally speaking, we are looking for candidates who have two years of paid experience working in a hospital setting. Now, there are always exceptions to every rule, but those are the guidelines. Most of our clients tend to be hospitals and most managers want to see equivalent experience.
So, why travel? Well, there are many reasons to travel, but here are my top few:
1. More money! If your current employer is not paying you what you deserve, maybe it’s time for a change. Travel can be very lucrative. I speak with candidates all the time that end up making $10-$20 more an hour (or more) by doing travel assignments. That difference can easily add up quickly!
2. Better opportunities! Maybe it’s stagnant where you are and you want to open up your options for promotion. There is no better way to add a ton of experience to your resume by learning new systems, techniques, software and hardware, and by being immersed in a different environment. It’s very common for travelers to get job offers at the end of travel assignments. It makes you a more experienced professional and also it feels good when people are offering you jobs.
3. Umm, did I mention you get to travel the country and see this great nation!! Want to try something different before you hear the pitter patter of little feet? Want to visit Alaska, Hawaii, California, or just about anywhere else than where you live now? Or maybe the chicks have left the nest and it’s your time again and you want to try something different. Travel is for you. What better way to tour our great nation then to have someone else pay for your travel and housing while you earn great pay?
4. How about all 3? Make more money, better your career / increase your promote-ability, and travel the country all at the same time.
If you are asking yourself if you want to travel, you are asking the wrong question. The better question is: why not travel? There has never been a better time and you can’t beat the selection of jobs out there right now!
If you are a Cath Lab Tech or a Sonographer, chances are we have probably called you as of late and maybe you are starting to think about taking that leap of faith and jumping into travel.
The time has never been better; the amount of jobs that are out there has created a huge demand for qualified Cath Lab Techs, ARRT or RCIS as well as experienced Sonographers who are registered either with RDMS or CCI.
If you are on the fence, come talk to me, I’d love to get you on board!
