I recently returned from a whirlwind trip lasting a couple of days and I could not feel any worse. Ok, perhaps this is an exaggeration because if I think of the grand scheme of things I’m really doing pretty well. However, the struggle to eat healthy while on my trip was great and I will admit I succumbed to the temptations of high fat and sugar laden meals. It’s just too easy to get out of the routine of healthy eating and restaurants, both sit down and fast food, really do not offer many choices of low fat, healthy meal options. And anyone who has traveled knows how hard it can be to find a non-carb or deep fat-fried meal when flying and driving all day.
Post trip, in my determination to eat better on my next trip, I decided to Google (because Google can solve the world’s problems, right?) ways to eat healthy while on the road. Let’s just say I got quite a few hits on the inquiry, and most were so lengthy and unrealistic that I just ended up frustrated.
