Many of us make New Year’s Resolutions each year, and even more of us break them the first month. This year, let’s change it up – let’s make a goal to stay healthy during the cold/flu season. With all of the viruses and germs being passed around, it can be hard to avoid those nasty bugs. But it can be done. Even though we are all in the medical field, we sometimes forget that even the simplest things can keep us virus free. So we’ve provided a few tips to help you stay healthy this winter:
- Sleep! Just as easy as that, make sure you are getting a proper amount of sleep at night. When your body is rested it can better fight off infection.
- Sanitize and clean! Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer with you to use several times a day. Keeping your home clean will also help eliminate some viruses that may be lingering around.
- Exercise! Physical activity helps boost your immune system. Even just a short walk daily will help keep you healthy. Make it fun and recruit a few friends to join you. Before you know it, winter will be over and you may have fulfilled another New Year’s Resolution to lose weight.
