3 Locations you Want Your Next Assignment to be!

When it comes to landing a spring or early summer assignment, there are many opportunities to choose from! I decided to feature three states where we have consistent assignments for most Imaging modalities.

Indiana

Indiana has so much to offer! We have consistent positions continuing to come out of Indianapolis, which is a great location for an assignment!

Indianapolis Motor Speedway
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, known as “The Greatest Race Course in the World”, is located in Speedway, Indiana, just minutes from downtown Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is most known for hosting the Indianapolis 500. If you’re a racing fanatic, this would be an awesome spot for you to check out!

Gondola Rides: Old World Gondoliers
I’m not sure about anyone else, but something that has always been at the top of my bucket list is to experience a Gondola ride. Just imagine, the history surrounding you as well as the beauty and peacefulness, as you’re serenaded by the Gondolier. Indianapolis offers just this! There are Gondola rides that take you through the downtown district! What a fantastic way to get to know the area better!

Goose the Market
If you love meat, wine and craft beer, this is the place for you! Located in Indianapolis, Goose the Market is so delicious that it has been featured in Food & WineThe New York TimesBon Appetit (Top Ten Sandwich Shops in the nation), and more. The great news is that they have free tasting events every once in a while!

However, there are so many other locations you can visit throughout Indiana while you’re on assignment too.

The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
This is on the southern shore of Lake Michigan, which is beyond beautiful! There are a series of sandy beaches as well as trails through the dunes.

Indiana Beach Amusement and Water Park Resort
Another fabulous place to check out is the Indiana Beach Amusement and Water Park Resort, which is an hour and a half north of Indianapolis. There is entertainment for everyone, including 45+ rides, coasters, and water slides. To name a few: Dr. Frankenstein’s Haunted Castle, Sky ride over the Beach Boardwalk, six water slides, a train, and the Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain which takes you through mine tunnels of Superstition Mountain. During this ride, you will run into many surprises! If you love water and amusement parks, you don’t want to miss this opportunity!

California

California is a state full of travel assignments for most modalities, as well as a state full of excitement. Take a look at some of the places to visit!

Sequoia National Park
Sequoia National Park is east of Fresno. Here you will be in awe with the size of the giant trees! Take a picture or two and I guarantee you will feel very small. There are plenty of hiking trails and even camping. Just imagine being surrounded by mountains, deep canyons, giant trees, and caves. This sounds pretty magnificent, doesn’t it?

Crystal Cave
Crystal Cave is part of Sequoia National Park, right by Three Rivers, CA. Enjoy a guided tour inside of the cave and acquire a better understanding of Crystal Cave’s geology and the plants and animals within it.

Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park is mainly known for the Gold Rush of 1849. When you’re visiting, you may be able to “strike it rich” while gold panning. You can also enjoy horseback riding, rock climbing, biking, fishing, rafting, and the list goes on! If you want a day filled with fun and excitement, Yosemite National Park is the way to go!

McWay Falls
McWay Falls is a mesmerizing waterfall that drops into an unscathed cove on the coast of California. In the eighties, there was a mudslide that created the sandy cove. This picture doesn’t do it justice!

San Francisco
The Bay Area is also a location in California where we see many assignments. This includes San Francisco, which is known for its cable cars, restaurants, food trends, and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. If you enjoy arts, music, architecture, a variety of different food, and festivals, San Fran may be the place for you!

Palo Alto
Palo Alto is another area in the bay that we tend to see a lot of assignments. It’s the home of Stanford University, the Cantor Arts Center, which offers a widespread collection of art in 24 different galleries as well as an outdoor gardens area and finally, the Stanford Shopping Center, that has more than 140 world-class specialty stores, both chain stores and boutiques. Also, if you have time, stop downtown to experience the Palo Alto Farmer’s Market where you will enjoy a variety of fresh food samples, music, and entertainment.

Minnesota

Known as the Land of 10,000 lakes, we could most definitely say water defines this state. We have a lot of assignments throughout the state of Minnesota. Even though some don’t like the snow and choose to stay away during winter- spring and summer are very different! First of all, there is no snow! Also, there is so much beauty throughout this stunning state. So, what is there to do you ask?

Mall of America
Mall of America is one of the top tourist destinations in the country. Inside you will find a giant 4-level shopping complex, restaurants, an aquarium, and an amusement park! This is a must see if you travel to Minnesota!

Minneopa State Park
Minneopa State Park is the third oldest state park in Minnesota. It’s also known for the enormous scenic waterfall in southern Minnesota, a view you won’t want to miss out on! The area of Minneopa State Park has been colonized for thousands of years. There are eight different sites with stone artifacts that have been found throughout the park, along with burial mounds.

Twin Cities’ fun
More than 18 million tourists make their way to the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul every year. This destination is known as a place that flaunts outdoor entertainment, culture and cuisine. There is so much to check out, including the newly renovated Walker Art Center and Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, a modern art museum, that happens to be one of the largest urban sculpture parks in the country. Don’t forget to take an afternoon to spend some time on Grand Avenue, where you’ll find several locally owned restaurants, boutiques, and spas!

Duluth, Minnesota
Duluth, Minnesota, is a location where we tend to see travel assignments. Located not far from the Canadian border, Duluth is a port city on Lake Superior. It’s an incredible area with breathtaking scenery and plenty to do, especially if you like adventure and recreational activities! Enjoy your time fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, swimming, hiking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and ice fishing.

If you happen to hear about an opportunity in one of these states, don’t miss out! Has anyone ever traveled to any of these locations? If so, what were your favorite things to do?
