As the holiday season is fast upon us, we want to thank all of our travelers for their dedication and hard work over the last year. We are hearing more and more good news about the travel healthcare industry, so we are planning on a great 2011!
According to the 2010 Health Care Professionals Workforce Survey, there will be a growing demand for allied health professionals. Between 2010 and 2018, more than 6.1 million healthcare workers will be needed nationally to fill new jobs and replace workers who leave their job or retire. Retirement rates in the healthcare field are expected to increase an additional 13% by 2013. With the number of schools closing and/or greatly reducing class sizes, there will not be professionals in allied health to meet this demand.
There’s good news for nurses as well. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of registered nurses is expected to grow by 22 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations.
