A Central New York community college graduates students whose career path is rife with opportunity, ABC affiliate News Channel 9 reports.
Onondaga Community College in Syracuse has a nursing program that features a placement rate immediately after completing studies of almost 100 percent. Recent grads are capitalizing on two key factors to get ahead with their profession: the healthcare field is very strong and only growing stronger and Central New York facilities are adding nursing jobs.
“They can pretty much, around here, have opportunities anywhere in the hospital,” nursing professor Mary Dooley told the news outlet.
Gina Ferrelli, a nursing student at the school, told the news source she decided to pursue the nursing profession because of the high prospects for when she completes her studies.
The Washington Post reports nurses have developed a keen, discerning eye that helps them recognize consequences of the Great Recession. Heart attacks are afflicting young men, higher amounts of children are suffering from anxiety and ulcers and additional ailments of the stomach are more commonly occurring in all patients.
