A school in North-Central Tennessee is preparing to open a state-of-the-art building that aims to generate candidates qualified for nursing jobs, according to a published report.
Replete with a new nursing building that cost $8.5 million to construct, Lipscomb University in Nashville also is encountering strong enrollment showings, The Tennessean reports. But the three-story nursing building encompasses 24,000-square-feet and will be endowed with classrooms, offices for faculty members, space for studies and clinical labs, according to Roger Davis, dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Davis said he believes healthcare will continue growing rapidly and the school he helps lead will assist with the training of qualified workers.
“We’re confident that the healthcare field is going to see great growth, and the edge we have in the market is that these programs are taught in a faith-based setting,” Davis told the publication. “This is all a part of planned growth we’ve been working on for years.”
Davidson County, where Lipscomb University is located, ranks as the 13th healthiest county of the state’s 95 counties, according to County Health Rankings.
