As cold weather quickly approaches travel nurses may be asking, “Snow or sand for the winter?” Now is the perfect time to start deciding on where to spend the holidays and where your next travel destination will be. Some of the top choices this time of year for traveling nurses are Hawaii, Florida, Arizona, and California. All these states are popular states for this time of year.
We get a lot of requests for Hawaii any time of the year! The great thing is that Hawaii is a same-day license, so it makes it a very easy license to get!
Florida and California are a little bit tougher. A Florida license takes about four weeks to obtain, but the good news is that we already have jobs open in Florida for December and January start dates! Begin the licensing process now and you’ll have plenty of time to get your license.
California, while it used to be a walk through state, now takes around six weeks to get your license and requires fingerprints also. If you are considering California for the winter months, it’s imperative that you get started on the license now. The great news about California is that they offer a variety of climates. You can enjoy snow in the north or soak up the sun in the desert in the south!
Arizona is another state that we see a lot of requests for this time of year. We are seeing jobs opening for November and December already! The temporary license only takes a few days to obtain.
Of course, we work in all 50 states helping with both contract and direct hire. To see all of the travel nursing positions we have available, check out our website. And then you can decide if you prefer sand or snow!
