  • What is travel nursing or travel therapy?

  • What do I need to do to start working with a healthcare staffing agency such as Aureus Medical?

At that time, you will need to complete a skills checklist as well as provide an updated resume and current references.   • What obligation am I under after I submit an application?

    You are under no obligation to Aureus Medical after you submit your online application. Once we have found a travel assignment for you and you sign a contract, then you will become an Aureus Medical employee for the duration of that assignment.

  • What is the average length of travel nursing or travel therapy assignments?

    Depending on your modality/specialty, the length may vary from one month to a year, but a typical travel assignment is 13 to 26 weeks. Oftentimes, there are opportunities to extend your contract past the initial assignment timeframe. Contact your recruiter if you are interested in extending your current assignment or even staying on full-time. We have great opportunities available nationwide in travel nursing, travel therapy, as well as travel positions in the fields of medical laboratory, imaging, oncology, cardiopulmonary, neurodiagnostics, and more.

  • How can I be sure that there will always be assignments available?

    Flexibility is very important. While we have an abundance of travel jobs available across the country and we do our very best to connect you with the location of your choice, it’s possible that an assignment may not be available in the destination at that particular time. We work with major hospitals and healthcare providers nationwide so we do have a large pool of positions available. That, combined with more than 35 years of healthcare staffing experience, means we’re able to locate specific opportunities that smaller firms do not have the resources to identify. So, tell us where you want to go and we’ll go to work to help you get there. We specialize in travel nursing, travel therapy, as well as travel for other areas of allied health.

  • How quickly can you locate an assignment for me?

    Due to our vast network of hospitals we work with, we’ve identified opportunities in as little as a day. Realistically, it depends on the geographic area you are requesting and the demand for your specialty (travel nursing, travel therapy, etc.). On average, it takes us from one to four weeks from your initial contact with us until you actually begin an assignment. Some of our employees even reserve positions as much as 5-6 months in advance.

  • What happens when my assignment is completed?

    Our priority is to keep you working as often as you would like. During your current assignment it’s important to work with your recruiter and determine if you'd like to extend your stay, choose a new assignment from our nationwide network, or take some time off. The choice is yours!

  • Is there a fee for Aureus Medical's healthcare staffing services?

    Our candidates never pay a fee for our medical staffing services. Our fees are covered by our clients who partner with us to locate high quality healthcare professionals for their hospitals and medical facilities.   • What type of housing will be provided to me while on my travel assignment?

    Our expert housing team works with you and your recruiter to find the best housing available, focusing on drive time, safety, and security. Your housing options can be customized to your needs based on bedrooms, amenities, garage, and more. Plus, we handle all the arrangements for you, including furnishings and utilities. If you prefer to pick something on your own or stay with friends or family, you will be offered a housing stipend.

  • Can I travel with a friend, relative, or pet?

    Of course! A healthcare career in travel nursing, travel therapy, or other field of specialty can be even more rewarding when you have your spouse or a close friend with you to enjoy the experience. And, having your pet along with you can make it feel even more like "home." However, you will be responsible for any pet deposits required by the housing complex, as well as any difference in housing arrangements (upgrades to a 2 bedroom, etc).   • Do you work with LPNs and CNAs?

  • When and how am I paid?

    You are paid weekly. Aureus Medical offers Direct Electronic Deposit to the bank of your choice.

  • Are taxes taken out of my check?

    Yes. If you are a travel employee of Aureus Medical, we handle your withholding taxes and will send you a W2 at the end of the year.

  • In what areas of the country do you focus?

    Aureus Medical works with healthcare organizations nationwide for travel and direct hire positions. Our extensive network ensures you have a broad range of choices with regard to locations and settings.

  • I am looking to relocate. How may I best involve my family in the search process?

    Aureus Medical understands and respects the important role that a family may play in the decision making process.  We encourage our candidates to bring their family members with them on an onsite interview to learn about the community, its culture, school systems, religious organizations, arts, and recreational offerings. For direct hire jobs, the healthcare organization will typically work with your recruiter in coordinating tours and visits.

  • Who covers the travel costs for my interviews and do I make my own arrangements?

    Your first interview is typically a telephone or live virtual interview. If an onsite visit is required, Aureus Medical will handle the arrangements and the cost will be paid for by the facility. Aureus Medical will handle all logistical arrangements with regards to your onsite interview (or live virtual interview), including scheduling, transportation, and hotel accommodations. The cost associated with your visit is paid for by the potential employer. Your recruiter will work closely with you and the healthcare organization to fulfill special requests, such as a tour of the community and visits to schools, religious organizations, and local attractions. It’s important to us that you receive as much information as possible about both the facility and the community when making a decision about your career.

  • What is Aureus Medical's confidentiality policy?

    Your search for a new travel or direct hire opportunity is kept in the strictest of confidence and your resume or CV is never sent to a healthcare organization without your prior approval. We understand the importance of protecting your anonymity.

  • How long does it take to find a position (assignment) for me?

    Each assignment that Aureus Medical recruits for has different requirements. Each candidate Aureus Medical represents possesses a different skill set. Therefore, each candidate’s job search will have a different duration.

  • What do I need to do after I submit an online application with Aureus Medical?

    Once you have submitted an online application, a representative from Aureus Medical will contact you to explore the possibility of scheduling a formal interview.

  • Is there a fee or cost for Aureus Medical services?

  • How much do Aureus Medical's positions pay?

    Hourly and salary pay rates vary from job to job and depend on the qualifications and experience required for the specific assignment. Pay rates are discussed during Aureus Medical's interview process.

  • Does Aureus Medical provide benefits for temporary employees?

    Yes. Benefits are available to eligible employees provided enrollment and eligibility requirements are maintained.

  • Do I have to list my Social Security Number?

    Not during the application process. Your Social Security Number is required for the Background Consent form and other documents as required by State or Federal law.

  • Does Aureus Medical require a degree or certification?

    It depends on the position for which you are applying. Education and work history requirements vary from client to client.

  • How much information do I need to complete before my interview?

    At minimum you must submit a completed application and complete the skill sheet(s) that apply to your work experience and capabilities. Attach your resume if you have one completed. Any additional areas that you complete will help expedite Aureus Medical's interview process.

  • Who can I use as a reference?

    The best references to provide are direct supervisors and/or managers. Additionally, co-workers from past positions are acceptable for Aureus Medical to speak with.

  • Can I cut and paste my resume into the application?

    No. The work history section covers more detail than what is provided in a resume, such as: specific accomplishments, company industry, etc. The more information Aureus Medical captures regarding your work history background, the better we can represent you in your career search.

  • How long does the application/interview process take?

  • What is Aureus Medical's hiring process?

    Aureus Medical's hiring process includes completing an online application and skill sheet(s), a formal interview, skills assessments as necessary, and reference verification(s). Additional processes are completed once the Conditional Job Offer is accepted. Once you have met our hiring requirements, Aureus Medical will contact you regarding open positions that match your qualifications. We ask that you take an active role in your job search and check in with us on a weekly basis.

  • Why do I have to fill out the application if I have attached my resume?

    Aureus Medical requires a fully completed application. The application enables you to provide details on specific accomplishments from your work history as opposed to the traditional work duties listed on a resume. Also, including an entire overview of work history will usually capture work history not designated on a resume. Aureus Medical is interested in all work experiences and looks for transferable skills in the hiring process.
