Roughly 5,300 employment opportunities were created last month in U.S. hospitals, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The month prior, medical centers created 3,700 employment opportunities, Becker’s Hospital Review reports. Hospitals and medical centers have created at least 86,000 healthcare careers for the U.S. economy since July of last year. At present, the healthcare facilities provide 4.8 million jobs in the U.S.
Ambulatory healthcare services, which breaks down as home healthcare and doctors’ offices, increased by 8,900 career opportunities. Outpatient career centers augmented payrolls by 4,100 jobs while physicians’ offices developed 2,700 new career opportunities.
July saw gains of at least 12,000 jobs in healthcare, according to Becker Hospital Review.
Over-the-month advances in outpatient care centers increased by 4,000 while hospitals saw increases of 5,000, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The June increases at hospitals represents gains of 0.08 percent for the hospital sector. June also saw ambulatory healthcare services grow by 4,800 for home healthcare opportunities and jobs at doctor’s offices, according to Becker’s Hospital Review.
