The majority of individuals pursuing a healthcare career are optimistic about job hunting as the U.S. economy chugs along, according to a recent survey cited by Fierce Healthcare.
More than half of employees in the healthcare industry are not concerned about enough jobs in the sector, as 58 percent expressed confidence about their organization’s outlook, according to a poll administered for Randstad Healthcare Employee by Harris Interactive. The survey asked approximately 230 physicians, administrators and additonal professionals within the industry.
“The recent decision by the United States Supreme Court to uphold the healthcare reform legislation, formally called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act [PPACA], all but ensures the future growth of the healthcare industry,” executive vice president Steve McMahan with Randstad U.S. Professionals said.
Fifty-one percent said they are confident about their present professional responsibilities.
Within the healthcare industry, the medical careers of registered nurses, personal care aides and medical assistants grew the most in the four-year period leading to 2011, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
