Ebola patients in the US [VIDEO]

Transcript

As travel nursing professionals might be aware, a handful of patients infected with or exposed to the Ebola virus have been evacuated to the U.S. by air ambulance.

The fourth American medical worker was flown in for treatment at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta last week.
Emory hospital officials said the doctor would be kept in a special isolation unit. In August, the hospital successfully treated two other U.S. medical aid workers who had contracted Ebola in Liberia.

About 10 Ebola-related missions have been flown in the past several weeks, according to Phoenix Air Group, the ambulance company contracted by the State Department.

In addition to the patients publicly identified with diagnosed cases, an undisclosed number of people have been relocated to the U.S. for treatment, Yahoo News reported.

As the Ebola epidemic continues to make waves in the medical community, those on travel nursing jobs should stay up-to-date on patient information, outbreak numbers and forthcoming treatments. For more information on the virus, be sure to check back soon.
