Calling All Healthcare Professionals!

The time has never been better to take that leap of faith and jump into a travel career. There is a high demand for healthcare professionals as a whole. Generally speaking, we are looking for candidates who have two years of paid experience working in a hospital setting. Now, there are always exceptions to every rule, but those are the guidelines. Most of our clients tend to be hospitals and most managers want to see equivalent experience.

So, why travel? Well, there are many reasons to travel, but here are my top few:

1. More money! If your current employer is not paying you what you deserve, maybe it’s time for a change. Travel can be very lucrative. I speak with candidates all the time that end up making $10-$20 more an hour (or more) by doing travel assignments. That difference can easily add up quickly!

2. Better opportunities! Maybe it’s stagnant where you are and you want to open up your options for promotion. There is no better way to add a ton of experience to your resume by learning new systems, techniques, software and hardware, and by being immersed in a different environment. It’s very common for travelers to get job offers at the end of travel assignments. It makes you a more experienced professional and also it feels good when people are offering you jobs.

3. Umm, did I mention you get to travel the country and see this great nation!! Want to try something different before you hear the pitter patter of little feet? Want to visit Alaska, Hawaii, California, or just about anywhere else than where you live now? Or maybe the chicks have left the nest and it’s your time again and you want to try something different. Travel is for you. What better way to tour our great nation then to have someone else pay for your travel and housing while you earn great pay?

4. How about all 3? Make more money, better your career / increase your promote-ability, and travel the country all at the same time.

If you are asking yourself if you want to travel, you are asking the wrong question. The better question is: why not travel? There has never been a better time and you can’t beat the selection of jobs out there right now!

If you are a Cath Lab Tech or a Sonographer, chances are we have probably called you as of late and maybe you are starting to think about taking that leap of faith and jumping into travel.

The time has never been better; the amount of jobs that are out there has created a huge demand for qualified Cath Lab Techs, ARRT or RCIS as well as experienced Sonographers who are registered either with RDMS or CCI.

If you are on the fence, come talk to me, I’d love to get you on board!

Andy HannemanAndy Hanneman is an Account Manager in the Diagnostic Imaging division of Aureus Medical Group. Andy and his wife are celebrating their twins 1 year birthday. When not working, his life is filled with feeding and changing diapers. (He would also like to mention the tireless efforts of his wonderful, beautiful, patient and understanding wife who takes care of the girls full-time. Without her, his sleepless nights would be much worse.) Being a parent is an awesome power and responsibility and at the end of the day, his girls bring a huge smile to his face. Plus he wanted to mention, he has not yet dropped them, so he’s got that going for him, which is nice!

  1. Hi Andy,
I live in Springdale, Arkansas and have more than 2 years experience as a CNA, but lack Cath Lab Techs, ARRT or RCIS expertise. Can you also take me on board because the pay package here is not even enough to sustain my family. I don’t mind travelling to any places if I can earn better there than here.

  2. Ross,

I’m sorry to hear that you don’t have the opportunity you are looking for in your home town. Aureus Medical does hire CNA’s, although it is not a very strong field right now, we do have positions available. The Cath Lab positions are unfortunately something you have to be experienced and qualified for, so we can’t look at those. Call my buddy over in our Nursing division, his name is Bennett Simon at 402 891 1118 ext 2415 and he would love to talk to you and see if he can help you out with your career.

    Thanks,

  4. Hi there Andy. My name is Rob and I am currently an RT(N), CNMT nuclear medicine tech and I am set to take my boards for my RT(MR) mri certification. I just had a friend take a traveling xray tech job, and it got me curious. I have 7 years hospital setting experience in nuclear and I have been doing MRI for 2.5 years in a hospital setting. I am wondering what kind of traveler opportunities there are for me. Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

  5. Hi, I graduated college with a BS in clinical laboratory sciences in January 2015 and am working as a NYS licensed lab tech in one of the best hospitals in NYC. My dream job and my goal in this career is to work with Aureus Medical. I understand that I need more experience so for the next year I plan on building a solid resume so I can get jobs as soon as I apply. Can you offer any advice on what experience and extracurriculars I may need so I can start working on those now, such as being CPR certified and whatnot. I have been wanting to work with Aureus Medical since even before I graduated college because I’ve heard so many good reviews about it! Thanks in advance.
