We all know that healthcare is projected to grow at a rapid rate within the years to come. In a recent article on MSN.com, they place Occupational Therapy among the top 19 jobs in the United States. This is perfect timing with April being Occupational Therapy month as well!
Occupational Therapists should celebrate all of their hard work and be recognized for everything that they do on a daily basis. Whether it’s educating your patients or posting items on social media, here are a few items that you can do to spread the word about OT month!
1. Educate your patients, family and friends about Occupational Therapy. Sharing fun facts about how much occupational therapy is predicted to grow is an awesome way to get on the topic of what all it can do for them.
2. Post fun pictures of you and your coworkers on social media. The power of social media is huge! This is a great and quick way to recognize your profession.
3. Have a food day. This can be as simple as everyone bringing in their favorite dish to share.
4. Get involved in your community. Others in your community may not know what all OT can do for them or a family member. Volunteering is a great way to spread the word.
5. Give our awards at work. Have fun with coming up with your own awards at work for your co-workers. This will bring attention to OT but recognize others as well.
