Application aims to assist nursing jobs

An Eastern Massachusetts publisher has released an iPhone application that permits nurses to educate themselves on point-of-care nursing content, according to a press release.

The Nursing Reference Center allows users to search and quickly acquire the content from their Apple mobile devices. Produced by EBSCO, the mobile technology is available for free and can be helpful for staff nurses, nurse administrators, nurse faculty members and librarians at hospitals with the most modern and up-to-date information.

The application features more than 2,200 lessons and 700 evidence-based care sheets. It has more than 1,100 drug monographs and 1,300 nursing practice and skill competency checklists. The application is updated every week and also contains continuing education modules, medical illustrations with detailed depictions, medical news and additional information of value to those holding nursing jobs.

The application is organized by a table of contents and it allows viewing of recent or saved searches.

It also can sort information by relevance or the date. Users can save data as well as email information to colleagues.

Users may acquire it from the iTunes App Store.
