Stability in Contract Work

“Will I have another contract after this one? Will it be hard to find another contract?” All of these questions boil down to the same concept: stability in travel assignments. Many first time travelers fear making the leap into the traveling world due to the common misconception that there is no stability. I’m here to tell you that is not the case!

First, it is important to look at your specific job market. Since I work with nurses, I was curious what the market looks like for nursing professionals. According to a report by Georgetown University, the economy will create 1.6 million job openings for nurses throughout 2020. However, the industry is facing a massive shortage of nurses. As a result, hospitals reach out to travel agencies to help fill these needs. This results in more opportunities for you!  This trend is not looking to change anytime soon. There are many other reasons why travelers are consistently needed in facilities, but what you need to know is that there will be positions available for you.

One of the many perks of traveling for a career is the flexibility of how many assignments you want to take. If you want to take some time off between assignments, you can! On the contrary, if you are on an assignment and looking to jump into your next contract, your recruiter or account manager will actively search for your next contract throughout your assignment to ensure you have something lined up. The more flexible you are in regard to shift, location, etc., the more marketable you will be. This will help you secure your next position before your contract is completed.

Although you are not a permanent employee, you are still eligible for a wide range of benefits including 401K, insurance, and PTO, just to name a few. Be sure to ask your Aureus representative for more information.

In conclusion, there is in fact stability in contract work if that is what you are looking for. Reach out to an Aureus Medical representative today to start your traveling career!
