Nursing school graduates set to embark on careers

All members of a Florida school's largest graduating class of caregivers are on their way to gainful employment in nursing jobs, according to a published report.

As graduates of the Gulf Coast State College move on from the Practical Nursing Program at the Gulf/Franklin Campus, each of the 31 graduates is set to ply the trade they just finished learning while enrolled in the institute of higher education, WMBB reports.

"All of them are going to work, in either Bay or Gulf County," assistant coordinator Sharon Milner with the Practical Nursing and Patient Care Assistant Programs told the news source. "Usually we have classes of 24 to 27 or so to graduate, so to have 31 is amazing, and eight of them have perfect attendance. That's especially impressive."

National exams administered by the Board of Nursing await in July and many of the graduates said they feel confident about their prospects after having notched perfect attendance records with the program.

Nurses typically pursue a bachelor's degree, an associate's degree or a diploma from an approved program to pursue their caregiving careers, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
