The saying is true that things are bigger and better in Texas! I have been covering Texas for four years and maybe I am a little biased, but I feel it is one of the best states for a physical, occupational, or speech therapist to travel in. It is also a state that accommodates new grads for several positions, allowing them to get their foot in the door to many settings they otherwise would not be able to start in. There are always openings for all modalities and all settings.
The licensure process for Texas is a very quick one (2-3 weeks processing). The board is easy to access and the process is an easy 7 steps. One of the things I love about this license process is that they send you an online checklist, keeping you up to date on what items have been received and what is still missing.
Another fantastic thing about traveling in Texas is that there are so many major cities and no matter where you may land a travel contract, you’ll be near a city. One of my favorite spots to visit is north of Dallas in Carrollton at a place called Spa Castle. They offer it all for relaxing after a long day of work and at an affordable price. You can have the city life, country life, and the beach life all in one state! Now don’t you want to go?!

What are some of the experiences for PTs in Tucson, Arizona? I have offers in both Houston and Tucson ; and really unsure which is best for my family, as we are moving from NYC (sick and tired of the hustle and cold). Also which of the 2 states have better and quicker procedures for endorsements?
