With a new year comes new opportunities and goals – and for some, that may include starting a travel healthcare career! There’s so much to prepare for when you embark on your new professional journey and one thing many overlooks are documentation. This time in your life is exciting, whether it may be for one contract, or hundreds, you won’t want to forget all the amazing moments. Whether you are an expert at photography, or just starting out on social media – there are easy ways to capture you journey! Here are a few ways to make your memories last.
1. 1 Second Everyday
The app 1 Second Everyday is a user-friendly way to document a moment of each day via video or photo. The app is free, and you can upload and edit videos from your phone’s camera roll or take a shot directly in the app. 1 Second Everyday stores all your 1 second memories, titles them with the date, and gives you the option to export the final compilation video at the end of your journey. If you are worried about missing a day – you can opt into notification reminders from the app. It’s an easy video diary to document your travel healthcare career, and all you need is your phone!
2. Social Media Accounts
Creating a dedicated travel nurse account on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or TikTok is a great way to publicly document your travel healthcare journey. You can choose what medium works best for you, whether it’s taking travel photos, discussing topics, or filming short from content – there is a platform perfect for you! It’s a great way to connect and share helpful tips with other travel nurses on assignment you meet along your journey. And you can keep your family and friend in the loop on all your fun adventures!
3. Blog
Do you love to write it all out? Consider starting a blog! There are so many websites that allow you to create a free blog site, like Wix and WordPress. You can document whatever you want, your daily life on assignment, traveling nurse vanlife, the best food in each city – you name it. Post as frequent or as little as you’d like and share on social media to gain traction. Or, if you would rather keep your journey private, creating an online journal can help you process and document each day.
4. Take Pictures
Bring a digital camera, a Polaroid, or a few disposable cameras with you on your contract. Take photos of after work adventures or fun moments with your coworkers. At the end of the year, have them all developed and relive the memories of your favorite travel assignments. You could even turn them into an album or scrapbook!
There are so many ways to document your professional journey, so take some time to figure out what would work best into your lifestyle. Days on assignment can get pretty busy, so don’t worry if you miss a day or two. Just have fun with it! And if you’re ready to jump into your next adventure, reach out to us at Aureus Medical today!
