We all know that when considering new employment opportunities there are many options out there for you as a provider. It’s safe to say that you get multiple calls from recruiters, possibly on a daily basis! So – what’s the difference between all of these firms and how do you understand which firms you should invest your time? Because let’s be honest – you may be sending over your medical records, your entire work history, your coveted references contact information, etc. How do you know who to trust and where to go?
Of course, I will tell you that Aureus Medical Group is the way to go! For multiple reasons that I would be happy to cover with you…but I believe a previous blog has covered that for me. Today I am going to talk with you about NAPR and NALTO, more acronyms to add to your vocabulary. Both are professional organizations representing physician recruitment agencies dedicated to ethical conduct that have high set standards for performance and compliance.
The NAPR Mission Statement says, “It is the purpose of the National Association of Physician Recruiters (NAPR) to maintain industry leadership by promoting excellence, ethical standards, invocation and a spirit of cooperation in the delivery of services to the health care industry.” When visiting the NAPR website you, as a physician, can visit and look for firms to partner with as well as review the job board for new opportunities. The NAPR site just added a Physician Practice Search Guide. When you register for free with the World Job Bank you are able to download the guide, which was created to help aid you in every step of your personal job search. Something great to check out!
The National Association of Locum Tenens Organization (NALTO®) is dedicated to locum tenens organizations. Company members of NALTO® represent a large segment of the locums marketplace. This organization has very high standards of ethics and practices. Hospital clients are well aware of the ethical standards associated with NALTO® members and are open to working with these firms that hold such high standards. The NALTO® website is a great place to visit if you are curious about starting locum tenens and reviewing the standards associated with working with a NALTO firm. It provides an Education Center, articles of interest, and a job search tool.
With both organizations, staffing firms do have to pay annual fees to remain members, attend training and industry development sessions, and meet a level of established criteria and standards.
So now you know what NAPR and NALTO stand for. When partnering with recruitment agencies it is very important that you know who you are partnering with. Not only does this allow you the best representation with hospitals but it enables you to have an ethical and trusted partnership when it comes to very important life changes.
