Following significant anticipation, a new facility that offers physical therapy opened earlier this month in Portland, Oregon, according to a published report.
After 13 months of construction, the Old Town Recovery Center is set to employ 12 people, some of whom will be for physical therapy jobs, Oregon Live reports. The center is aiming to bring aboard roughly 2,000 new clients during the next year-and-a-half, agency director Ed Blackburn told the news source.
"We heard both from the city and community," Pape said. "Organizations said that this location is such a high-profile spot they really wanted us to serve a big capacity."
The second floor hosts the facility where physical therapy will be offered.
Efforts to build the facility first began in November 2010. Organizers accepted a federal grant worth $9 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to construct the three-floor facility.
The facility connects with another building that provides medical services to the poor.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates career opportunities for physical therapists are projected to develop more rapidly than the average.
