When gifted jazz violinist Rodney McCoy suffered a stroke, he was concerned that his profession would be affected, but he has recovered after months of occupational therapy.
Fortunately, The New Pittsburgh Courier reports that after spending more than one year recovering, he has encountered new opportunities – in the form of creating music with The Urban Jazz Violin Players – and an offer to play music at a reception held by the University of Pittsburgh.
McCoy was concerned that his distinguished musical career had come to an end after he had suffered a stroke approximately 18 months ago, and he needed to visit various medical facilities to recover – including spending two weeks in an intensive care unit – and then visiting a nursing home, according to the news source.
He has had limited success in raising the needed funds, but his recovery has been strong, according to The New Pittsburgh Courier.
