C&A Industries, parent company to Aureus Medical Group, a leading medical staffing agency, has been recognized as a Gold Well Workplace by the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA), along with its local chapter, the Wellness Council of the Midlands (WELCOM). C&A, based in Omaha, Nebraska, is one of 61 organizations nationwide to be honored by WELCOA as among America’s Healthiest Companies. C&A will formally receive the award at a luncheon to be held in April 2013.
Aureus Medical is also headquartered in Omaha. The medical staffing firm specializes in placing healthcare professionals nationwide in medical careers, including travel nursing jobs, travel therapy jobs, and other allied health fields. Aureus Medical’s corporate employees actively participate in C&A’s wellness programs and activities.
WELCOA is a national non-profit organization and one of the most respected resources for workplace wellness in America. Its nationwide Well Workplace Awards initiative recognizes quality and excellence in worksite health promotion. Recognition is awarded based on a pre-defined set of worksite wellness criteria.
The Gold Well Workplace Award, which C&A also received in 2010, recognizes organizations which have developed comprehensive wellness programs that have become a strategic and integral part of the business and produce results. Organizations are eligible to participate in WELCOA’S awards process once every three years.
“The success of C&A’s health and wellness program is due in large part to the extraordinary efforts of our employees who serve on our wellness committee,” said Scot Thompson, CEO, C&A Industries. “Their dedication, enthusiasm, and creativity have greatly contributed to improving the health and wellbeing of C&A’s workforce and keeping wellness top of mind across the company. We’re proud to be recognized for what we believe is an important investment in our people and their families.”
C&A established its health and wellness program, AurHealth, in 2003 for the purpose of promoting organizational and individual wellness among C&A employees through education, prevention, early detection, and access to comprehensive health resources. Driven by an employee committee comprised of representatives from most company divisions and departments, including Aureus Medical Group, AurHealth offers a wide variety of programs for staff and their families within and outside of the work environment.
