Those with nursing jobs know that utilizing the latest technology is important not only to make their jobs easier but to give their patients the best care possible as well.
A recent survey that polled more than 1,000 people found that the nursing community has been quick to embrace the medical applications of tablets, eReaders and smartphones.
The survey, which was conducted by Springer Publishing Company, found that nearly 75 percent of those with nursing jobs own smartphones and more than half of these people have used the device downloaded or installed medical or nursing applications on them.
“These findings indicate the rapid growth of mobile technology use among those in the healthcare industry, as well as the growing demand for eBooks and mobile applications that serve the professional development and reference needs of nurses,” Pascal Schwarzer, vice president of digital business development at Springer, said.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, technological innovation will lead to increased jobs in healthcare sector in the future. New technologies will allow more ailments to be treated, thus creating additional medical and nursing jobs.
