Travel physical therapy specialists are on the go a lot. Whether traveling back home for the holidays or on the move between clinics, here are some ways to stay active while traveling:
Pack a jump rope and resistance band, which are compact and lightweight, so they’ll fit easily into luggage. With this equipment, you can work out nearly every muscle in your body.
If you’ll be in a car or plane for long periods of time, perform simple stretches in your seat.
Heel raises are a good way to get the blood flowing, and neck rotations are a quick, soothing exercise. As a rule of thumb, get up and walk the aisle every hour.
As travel physical therapy professionals know, anything that increases circulation helps prevent blood clots from forming and reduce aches and pains.
